City Union Mission Funds
The Vanderberg Ministry Foundation is a fund designed to carry on the ministry to Kansas City’s poor and homeless by allowing City Union Mission to launch new or expand current ministries, and support costs that would not be covered by the general fund. This foundation is designed by law to always carry a minimum balance of $1,261,530.00. This amount is the principal from a donor’s personal Trust. The principle can never be spent. The Capital Legacy Foundation will address special capital projects aimed at expanding and improving City Union Mission’s shelters and programs. The Staff Education and Advancement Fund: Partner with City Union Mission to meet training goals and employment needs of the future. This fund allows staff to stay current in their fields and ensures them quality health insurance or assists with other unforeseen expenses. The Children’s Scholarship Fund: Help meet the needs of homeless and poor children by sending them to City Union Mission’s CAMP CUMCITO, where they will enjoy a week of fun while maturing into godly young people. This fund allows for improvements to the camp as well. The Program Graduate / Client Stabilization Fund (formerly the Christian Life Scholarship Fund): Many of our graduates face new challenges as they reenter the work force such as transportation needs, rent deposits funds, debt relief, vocational training/education, legal fees, and start up needs related to once again being on their own and starting a new home.
